THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN EDITOR AND AN ANIMATOR
A video production will typically have an director and an editor who are responsible for the overall structure of an edit. Depending on a client's budget this role can sometimes be done by the same person. An animator will be brought on board in if a client has more specific needs in terms of graphics. Things like logos and titles doing complex movements on screen will require an animator.
WHAT IF YOU NEED ANY FILMING?
We direct, shoot and edit the majority of our work within 72 hours, so if you need any filming for your edit, let us know and we can factor that into your quote.
BALL PARK VIDEO EDITING/ ANIMATIOR RATES
Our day rate for any editing or animation is £450 per day. When we produce a quote for you for your editing it will be based on this figure.
OTHER COSTS TO CONSIDER
Most videos have music which will be added to the edit, music rights can range from £30 - £50. We add these costs to your final invoice as a cost.
If footage needs to be sent to an editor or animator by mail or courier on a hard drive, the hard drive purchase will need to be factor in as well as and postage and handling.
What's the process and HOW SOON CAN I GET THE EDIT?
When we produce a video edit for a client it will typically go through what's known in the industry as video amends. This is where we send you a draft edit and wait for your feedback prior to making changes to the edit.
Most video production companies allow two rounds of amends prior to sending you a final edit. We work the same way. At this stage of the game we ask you to be prompt with your feedback.
